mattresses
-
The Therapura replacement mattress
is constructed from a high-grade visco-elastic polymer – 80kg per
cu.mtre. (memory foam)
-
The
overall depth is 16cm – with 8cm memory foam, and 8cm High Resilient
foam. The mattress conforms to all British Standards of fire retardancy..
-
The inner core is protected by a 100% cotton interliner (not removable). The
washable and removable (zipped) outer cover is 75% Cotton 25% Polyester.
-
The mattress needs to sit on a suitable ventilated base. In the short term, any
solid base e.g. divan or similar will suffice, but for longevity of the
mattresses’ performance, a slatted base is ideal. It is not necessary to
purchase an expensive base. Therapura will even work on the floor! (delivered
vacuum packed for convenience)
-
The Therapura overlay mattress is simply the ‘memory foam’ portion
(8cm) of the replacement mattress, with interliner and washable outer cover.
-
The overlay is normally used to convert a fairly new unsuitable mattress, into
the Therapura sleep system.
-
The overlay is reversible, but this should be very occasionally (6 months).
The mattress underneath, of course, receives little or no wear and will not
normally need replacing for many years.
-
The overlay is not a poor substitute for the replacement mattress, but a less
expensive method of converting the existing mattress, and avoiding the loss of
the cost of the existing mattress. (Delivered vacuum packed for convenience).
pillows
The Therapura pillow (85 kg per cu.mtre foam) is ergonomically shaped in order to cradle the neck and skull during sleep. When the sleeper turns i.e. side or
back position, the pillow re-moulds to the new shape – whilst still supporting
the whole area. The arm may be placed underneath the pillow, but this is better
advised with a Therapura mattress or overlay, as the arm then moulds into the
pillow and the sleep surface – this then overcomes the restriction of blood flow
to the arm i.e. numb arm on waking or ‘pins and needles’. The
pillow has the standard interliner, and an outer (dralon type) washable cover.
Most users place the pillow inside a standard cotton pillowcase.
