PREGNANCY
Most ladies will experience hip, back, and sleep problems during
pregnancy…
In many cases their existing bed/mattress will be contributing to the
problem(s)
Most ladies will find sleeping on their side extremely difficult, as the
weight of the baby will affect the pressure load to their hip; also the
baby will ‘pull’ them into a ‘forward’ position.
The alternative is then to try and sleep in the ‘supine’ position (on
the back) which then means that the full weight of the baby will be
bearing down on the mum-to-be. Often, this can stimulate more visits to
the bathroom…
With a Therapura mattress/overlay the sleeper will be able to sleep in the
side position, allowing the baby to ‘mould’ into the mattress – many
ladies comment that when the baby moves, they can feel the movement in the
mattress! Importantly, the mum-to-be will achieve improved muscular
recovery during sleep, and should also manage many more hours of
undisturbed sleep.
Good, sustained, pelvic alignment is vital to ladies at this time, and the
correct sleep surface can really contribute to achieving this.
