My partner has no back problems, will they still benefit from the mattress?
It is very common for the ‘partner’ to be surprised as to the new level of comfort experienced on the Therapura product.

My partner is 60lb lighter than me, will the mattress cope with this?
The Therapura surface allows for any sleepers, (including babies!) for any weight upto 28 stones. You can also turn on the mattress without disturbing each other, as the mattress responds independently to each sleeper.

What should I do if fluid is spilt on the mattress?
Remove the outer cover as soon as possible, and apply a dry/damp sponge to the mattress area – being careful not to increase the amount of liquid that has entered the memory foam. Air the mattress for as long as possible i.e. 24 hours. Normally there will be no adverse effect on the performance of the mattress/overlay.

How do I get the longest use from my Therapura Mattress/Overlay.
Your mattress should be ventilated daily. Memory foam will deteriorate when humidity levels are too high. We all give off water vapour whilst asleep (approximately 1½ pints per night!) Therefore, don’t make the bed on waking – but leave the bedding turned back. This tip will ensure many years of use from your mattress/overlay.

Does Therapura become ‘firm’ in cold weather?
No, The Therapura technology has overcome this common problem with memory foam products. This is a particular problem for single sleepers in a double bed, because as they move to a new area of the mattress, it can often be rather cold and uncomfortable.

Can I take my overlay on holiday with me?
Many customers get so used to their mattress that they feel that they can’t do without it! The overlay will simply roll up, or be folded into a suitcase…It can be compressed into any shape, and will return to its original shape when unpacked.

I sleep on my stomach, and I’m told that I shouldn’t – what’s the answer?
This is a definite ‘No-No’! Your neck will be rotated at 80-90° for long periods. This will often cause stiffening on the trapezius muscles on waking. The vertebrae are also under stress for long periods, often causing misalignment of the cervical spine, and further pain. You can however, get very close to sleeping on your stomach on a Therapura mattress – please call the office for advice 01489 580686.

How long will it take for me to get used to the new Therapura
mattress?
Many customers and patients get a great improvement on the first night! Others who have an on-going back/neck/sleep condition, will normally take between 3-5 nights to get an improvement. Remember, that the mattress will put your skeletal system into the correct posture (where possible), and this can take a few nights for the muscles and ligaments to readjust.

I’m just looking for a luxury product, what should I be thinking about?
Most important, make sure that your purchase a good sprung and slatted base for the new mattress. If you require an overlay, then make sure that the existing mattress is still evenly ‘sprung’ without dips and/or bumps. You can save a lot of money by buying the items separately. Many companies with memory foam products offer bed bases and other accessories in one package, making it difficult to see exactly how much the mattress really is….

Will I overheat on a Therapura mattress?
This is a very unusual occurrence on a Therapura product, as the visco-elastic surface is open-celled and self-ventilating. There are however, medical conditions, and some medications that can cause certain individuals to overheat during sleep. Best to speak with your GP However, please remember that the reduced pressure levels on the mattress will encourage better circulation, making you feel warmer.

Do I need to change my bedding at all with the new mattress?
It is common for the amount of bedding to be reduced when using a Therapura mattress. This is due to better blood circulation in the main – also the sleeper will often lie in one position for much longer periods as the pressure levels are reduced. We are of course, all different, so it’s a case of seeing how you go!
